Whether you’re traveling alone, as a couple, with family, or friends – the Niedersachsen-Ticket lets you travel flexibly for a whole day. Starting at just € 29, up to five people can travel together, and children accompanying you ride for free. Valid on all local trains and public transport throughout Lower Saxony, Bremen and Hamburg.

With the FahrPlaner-App, available as a free download for your smartphone, you can find the best connections, stay up to date on current traffic conditions, and book your mobile ticket.

Travel to Groningen in the Netherlands.
From Leer, take the express bus to Groningen Centraal.

All about the Niedersachsen-Ticket

The Niedersachsen-Ticket is valid on all 2nd class local trains, as well as buses, trams, and underground trains in Lower Saxony, Bremen, and Hamburg.
It is valid around the clock from midnight on the day of validity until 3 a.m. the following day.

The Niedersachsen-Ticket is valid in 2nd class on all local trains (RE, RB, S, RS) in Lower Saxony, Bremen, and Hamburg.
The only exception: it is valid on IC/EC trains between Bremen Central Station and Norddeich Mole/Emden Außenhafen, but not on other long-distance trains (IC/ICE).

The Niedersachsen-Ticket is also valid on buses, trams, and underground trains in Lower Saxony, Bremen, and Hamburg.
In North Rhine-Westphalia and Hengelo (NL), bus travel is not included. Additional tickets are required.

Each Niedersachsen-Ticket allows up to three children aged 6 to 14 to travel free of charge, as well as all children under 6. These children do not need to be named on the ticket.
Teenagers aged 15 and over travel as paying passengers. They need to be listed on the ticket.

Before departure, please write the names of all travellers legibly and in block letters on the Niedersachsen-Ticket.
Children travelling for free do not need to be listed. Paying dogs must be entered as ‘Dog’.
Valid photo IDs of the travellers must be presented during ticket inspection upon request.

The Niedersachsen-Ticket is available as a mobile phone ticket via the FahrPlaner-App, as an online ticket in the ticket shop, and in paper form from ticket machines, sales points, and on many buses.
The online ticket can be loaded into the FahrPlaner app as a mobile phone ticket after purchase.
It is not possible to return, exchange or refund Niedersachsen-Tickets.

For local trains in Lower Saxony, Bremen and Hamburg, a Niedersachsentarif Bicycle Day Ticket is required.
Folding bikes can be transported free of charge in the designated luggage areas.
Different rules may apply within the transport associations.
For the IC/EC between Bremen Central Station and Norddeich Mole/Emden Außenhafen, booking a parking space in the bicycle compartment is required (only available at DB sales points).

Your dog can travel as a paying passenger and is recorded on the Niedersachsen-Ticket each time with the designation “dog.”

When traveling within the public transport associations in Lower Saxony, Bremen, and Hamburg (e.g., on local buses), special regulations may apply for bringing dogs.
Check with these companies whether, as a result, additional tickets may be necessary alongside the Niedersachsen Ticket.
